In The Land of Mara
In the Land of Muses: Agnes Baddoo
Meet my Muse, Agnes Baddoo, founder of Agnes Baddoo. She is a woman who knows her own voice, and built a brand based on the lovely story of once coveting her own mother’s handbag. A woman who followed her instincts, fell into the arms of the unknown, and created something seeded in her heart.
We later collaborated on a Sac that will benefit my own dreams. There are only 27, limited edition, and all proceeds will go towards helping me build a Writers’ Colony InTheLandOf Mara, which is the simple revolution of a place to write, to belong, and to find one’s voice. READ MORE
ITLOM X AB: The Loot
The ‘Aged Sac 2 Natural’ is a limited edition series of 27 sacs. Each has been commissioned by InTheLandOf Mara to be uniquely tanned, tumbled, turned in color, and exposed to the elements by the designer, Agnes Baddoo, creating a bespoke effect that has been aged to perfection to achieve an aged and weathered leather aesthetic. Each sac was hand-cut, hand-stitched, cured, and weathered under diverse conditions, in various locations across Los Angeles. Over time, this achieves the well-loved look of worn-in leather that can only be achieved with time and wear. Each sac is numbered with a hand-stamped leather tag to commemorate the collaboration between InTheLandOf Mara and Agnes Baddoo. Dimensions of the Sac 2: 15″ x 17″ Strap Height: 7″

Like me, they want their existence to resonate deeply and with as many rebirths the freedom to evolve will allow. READ MORE
BREAKING: ITLOMXAB
Mara Brock Akil Is Back with a Bag Collaboration and a New Content Site…
Launching today, In the Land of Mara (ITLOM) is a more personal venture, a digital destination that provides a glimpse into the mind of the woman whose characters we have related to for decades. “Since turning 50, I am reclaiming dreams,” Brock Akil tells BAZAAR.com of this new chapter. “I have always wanted a magazine since I was a little girl. This website offers me an opportunity to be in direct communication with an audience I have been having conversations with for over 20 years.”
